“We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”
Meet Cindy
I specialize in working with children, teens and families.
Before becoming a therapist, I earned my Master of Public Health (MPH) and spent ten years providing health education in a variety of settings, including health centers and elementary, middle, and high schools. My focus was on sexuality education, disease prevention, and decision-making. During this time, I worked in graduate programs and led parent workshops, teaching teachers and parents how to approach sensitive topics with children.
In 2000, I received my Master of Science (MS) in Educational Psychology, with an emphasis on School Counseling and Therapy. While completing my degree, I also earned my school counseling credential (PPS). Since then, I have dedicated myself to counseling students and families in schools, while also offering health education services.
In 2008, I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Through my private practice, I provide therapeutic services, counseling, and parent education. I also provide counseling services at The Nueva School in Hillsborough and social-emotional learning (SEL) consulting to local schools. I’m passionate about working with families to develop simple, effective strategies and resources to improve their well-being. I believe in a compassionate, client-centered approach that prioritizes building trust, creating a safe space, and empowering individuals and families to reach their full potential. My goal is always to offer practical strategies and support that resonate with each unique situation.
