Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make an appointment?
To make an appointment for therapy you call or send an email (email is generally answered much quicker). We will set up a time to talk for a free 20 minute consultation to determine if we are a good fit to work together.
What does it cost?
A 50 minute individual session generally costs $195 per session, a couples or family session is $220. I have a limited amount of sliding scale spots, which is a reflection of my decision to work with a broad range of clients. If you don’t think you can afford therapy, call or email me and we’ll see what we can figure out.
Do you take insurance?
Although I do not take payment from insurance companies, many of my clients are able to receive reimbursement (or partial reimbursement) from their health insurance companies if they have out-of-network coverage. Consult your insurance plan to find out if you have out-of-network coverage, and what they’ll reimburse. You will be required to pay for your therapy and then get reimbursed by your insurance company. I’ll provide you with the necessary paperwork to help make that as easy as possible.
What happens during the initial appointment?
The session is 50 minutes, often the session will be split into time with each individual (in the case of family therapy) with all of us meeting together for a final few minutes. We’re trying to accomplish at least two things in that first session: You and I deciding together if we’re a good match and giving you some help.
